The LCG software development portal

This web site is provided by the LCG Software Process & Infrastructure (SPI) project. It offers facilities for development, distribution and maintenance of LCG software projects and related projects.

If you would like to use these facilities for your project, then go to the Register new project menu entry that is displayed after login. Posting as well as browsing in your project can be restricted by project admins (link to User Docs Cookbook in left column)

If you have questions about using this site, please consult the user docs/admin docs (left menu bar). If you don't find an answer to your problem, use the support link and then choose Submit a Request in the menu bar which will appear at the top of the page. Please note that this form has to be used ONLY for Savannah portal issues. All other support requests should be posted to the appropriate project.

The software used to run this site has been developed by the GNU/Savane project and customized for LCG use by SPI.

 

Savannah unscheduled interruption

Between 14:15 and 15:30 the Savannah service suffered from a blocked database.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused by this.

Between 17:30 and 18:30 the Savannah service was only usable in read-only mode.

The problem is fixed now and we apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Around 23:00 the Savannah service had to be restarted.

Network interruption

Around 12:00 today there was a network interruption and the Savannah service was unreachable. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Temporary login problems resolved

This morning the login of users using their AFS password for authentication was failing.

The problem is fixed now and we apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Savannah services restarted after power cut

After an unexpected power cut at CERN, the savannah services needed to get restarted. Everything is up and running again now.

Sending private messages disabled

Due to heavy misuse of some users, Savannah's feature of sending private messages to user's mailbox has been disabled. This feature was marginally used and did not add any additional benefit to sending e-mails directly, hence the team has decided to suspend it. Any other functionality of the tracker remains unmodified. ...

Migration completed

The migration of Savannah to the new server is now completed and the service is back in production.
The new server is running different versions of the operating system (SLC5) and of several packages on which Savannah relies on. Extensive tests ...
